Artists

Felipe Romero is a singer and songwriter; his colombians roots give him the perfect mix between the european and south american culture.
He was born in Ibaguè (Colombia) on October 18th 1983; his grandmother was a local singer and his grandfather was a radio journalist.  Love for music get his first expression at 8 years old when he started playing the drum in the  school band.
In 1995 he travelled to Italy with his mother, taking a new way; this is the begining of a new research, exploiting languages, ideas and cultures.
In 1998 he became a member of the philharmonic society of Mattie (Turin), where he studied music theory and learned to play trombone and percussions.
In 2002 Felipe started his studies of vocal technique  with an association called Lizzart in Turin.
He graduated at the University of Turin in Linguistic Mediation, speaks English, Spanish (languages that he uses to write his lyrics, besides Italian), French (school level). The first song of his first album "Phil So Good" is dated 2002 and titled "Tu Mugrosa Cara (Your dirty face)”.  The sound of this project is a mix of Latin sounds with pop, rock, R&B, rap-hip hop,  Arabic resonances, and reggeaton. The result is an "Ethno-Pop," which collects all the smells and colors of the multiethnic city that today is the planet. Lyrics and melodies are written by him and the songs have mainly two versions (Italian and Spanish.) “Phil So Good” has been produced by himself and employed three years to get 10 complete songs .
In 2007 he attended the Midem in Cannes with the stand "Italia in Musica”, where he came in contact with several members of the music industry. Thanks to this event a friendship was born with the Latin magazine BOOM!, where he  took part in 2 Compilations with the tunes "Tu Mugrosa Cara” ,“Siempre-Sempre” and “Alma al Cielo”.
In 2008, thanks to the success of Phil So Good he had the honor to collaborate with a major international producer,  Arif Cooper, producer and creator of Sean Paul' hits “Watch Dem Roll", "Hold My Hand". “Guardian Il Capellaio Matto - Polvere negli occhiAngel Riddim" is precisely the last one receiving from the academy three Reggae Awards, and  they produced the single" Alma al Cielo", the official Spanish version of this Riddim; included in a  Compilation Entre2tierras for Latin American Music Conference in the U.S. and positioned between the top 100 themes of 2009 in Colombia.  Always in 2009  the second work entitled "Otra Vuelta" was issued, produced by Luca Vicini, aka Vicio, Italian bassist known from the awarded Italian band Subsonica (www.subsonica.it). This Ep has a more mature sound but always following my "Ethno Pop"style, fresh and youthful, and at the same time embraces all age groups. In the summer, a  promotional tour in Colombia started, obtaining the consent of many local radio and television channels.
In 2010, thanks to “Alma al Cielo”, he had the opportunity to record a new riddim signed Jamplified Records, titled Muddy legs( English version) and Piernas de Barro (Spanish one), collaborating in the Stonehenge Riddim, sung by Jah Cure, Gyptian and other Jamaicans icons. He started also a Collaboration with a band called “Hitfinders”, Italian deejays and producers (now signed by Melodica Records), preparing Latin versions of his tunes, the First is “I need You (Good reggaeton remix)” and “Miami” for Pulse Code Records. Thanks to this experience in dance and house music he came in contact with Gigi de Martino and Roberto Molinaro, wellknown italian djs and producers, and in August 2011 came out with the hit “Pananas”. More exiting projects are coming out in 2012, as he last single “Quieres Fumar” ft Max Millan for M.O.D.A Fashion music records, published in december 2011.
In 2012 Felipe Romero is a Colombian singer that lives between Italy and England. His natural skills in melting different styles, sounds, cultures, and in figuring what he daily sees and lives, as a contemporary artist perfectly integrated in a globalizing mood, marks deeply this new single "Alma al cielo", centered on a sweet melody that underlines his attractive voice.
In 2013 "L'Aria Che Respiri" is available from the end of March, born from the collaboration between Felipe Romero and Maker, rapper and producer that gives very nice impressions with this song, that underlines his music research for unusual solutions in arrangements, giving a mark of his main referrals and influences. Makes hosts for this track one of the most active singers and authors of these latest years, Felipe Romero, able to move from the tightest beats of dance productions to these posh atmospheres, underlining his roots as storyteller.
